From one simple idea, mother of two, Renee Gipp has created a #hashtag phenomenon. #Mumlife was the beginning of a business that has taken Australia by storm.
An idea that started with a hashtag, Renee has built a mini empire which has now expanded to business stickers and working with sporting clubs. More than just a business, Mumlife Stickers have enabled people to connect together and has also been a platform for Renee to fund raise for those in need.
Along with the craziness of motherhood and the challenges business brings, we chat with the founder of Mumlife Stickers about the success of her wonderful business concept and raising two little boys.
Tell us about your business. How did you begin? How did you come up with the idea?
Mumlife Stickers, is so much more than just a sticker business to me, its enabled me to connect with mums all over the world, to let them know they are not alone and we are all in the same boat, riding through motherhood. The idea was to have a #mumlife made for my car, which then more and more people loved the idea. It went from #mumlife, to custom hashtags and now business stickers, along with working with sport clubs and also an incredible amount of ways to fund raise for those in need.
What was the reason you began this new venture?
To be honest, it did come out of nowhere. I had designed and made a #mumlife sticker for my own car and then it just grew from there. I was also married at the time and I really wanted to be able to contribute. Luckily, now being a single mum of two, I am very blessed to have this business.
Do you find it difficult running a business with children?
It can be, if you put them last. After many anxiety attacks of attempting to juggle, I have found that everything can wait. It is important to put my children first, make sure they are ok and then focus.
What advice do you give to other mums that want to start a business?
Be prepared for it to be hard, but to be patient and to be consistent.
What is your secret of success?
My secret to success would definitely be to be consistent and to be clear on your own vision and what you would like to achieve.
What’s your favourite product in your range?
It would have to be my original and first design, #mumlife.
Anything else you would like to add?
I am a mum of two busy little boys and I do know firsthand that being a mum is one of the most rewarding things to do, and that’s why it excites me to connect with mums. I love being able to celebrate and laugh together about this crazy journey we call “motherhood”.
After launching Mumlife Stickers, I am really excited to now be selling my range of stickers Australia wide.
There is nothing more exciting than hearing my children in the back seat as we drive around spotting Mumlife Stickers on the back of cars.
A lot of time, love and thought goes into my stickers and I’m sure that you’ll love them too!
